I think that my favorite and most successful project this semester was the independent project. I got to try a lot of new techniques that I hadn’t done before, and I really enjoyed the project overall. I also took many photographs, and it is probably one of the largest posts I made.
The Graffiti project was the one I feel that I learned the most from. I had never even heard of some of the tools we used in photoshop, and I definitely didn’t know you could do something like that. Also, it was fairly easy to accomplish it once you knew all the steps. In the end, I thought that picture came out pretty cool, too.
Creating the surreal image photo was easier because of having already used photoshop for other projects. We did similar techniques for many projects before, so I already knew how to do many things. For example erasing the edges, and combining different pictures together was a skill we used often. Doing projects like this now is much more simple, and I know exactly how to do it. It is a technique that I could use often, as well.
The picture of the bubbles from the independent project most reflects me as an artist. I love the ocean and swimming in general, so the bubbles sort of remind me of that. Also blue is my favorite color, and it looks really cool in my opinion. Out of all the projects we did, I liked the final photo I got of the bubbles the most. It was also really fun taking those pictures.
I really liked this course, and I learned lots of new techniques. Taking pictures is something I do everyday, and so now when I take them, I really think about how I do it, and how the subject looks in the photo. I’m really glad I ended up taking this class.
